Schemes for General (Unreserved) Category Government 2018: The person who comes under the Economical Weaker Section (EWS) Category will get a benefit from the Gujarat Government. The Gujarat Government launched 8 new schemes for people who fall under EWS Category. The new 8 schemes which are launched by Gujarat government will help to provide financial assistance to people under Unreserved Category. This Scheme was launched on 10 August 2018. The Gujarat Government has launched 8 new schemes for the people under EWS category to provide financial assistance. The person who falls under the reserved category will not be benefited with this scheme. The poor candidates who do not come under any of this reservation quota will be eligible to get the benefit of this scheme. There are around 58 castes that do not come under any reservation quota and according to Gujarat government, they are eligible to get the benefit of these 8 new schemes. Basically, this announcement was made to counter the Hardik Patel’s agitation starting on 25 August 2018 for Patidar Reservation (Asrakshan).
The Gujarat Government has launched 8 schemes for the people whose annual income is less than Rs. 3 lakh per annum. Out of the total 8 announced schemes by Gujarat government, there are 7 schemes which are only for those people whose annual income is less than Rs. 3 lakh per annum. There are a total of the 6.5crore population in Gujarat. And around 1.5crore population in a total of 6.5crore population of Gujarat which is not eligible for any type of reservation scheme which is announced by Gujarat Government. And thus they have deprived of employment and education related benefits. The Gujarat Unreserved Educational & Economical Development Corporation will implement the schemes launched by Gujarat government with an outlay of around Rs. 600crore in total.

The Gujarat Government announced 8 new schemes for the people to help in financial. This Scheme will help the students and young entrepreneurs who want to achieve something in life. The person who falls under the economically backward sections of the general category will be benefitted with this scheme and who does not belong to any type of reservation. The Gujarat State currently has 49.5% reservation out of which 7.5% for SC, 15% for ST and 27% for OBCs Reservation. Education Loan Scheme upto Rs. 10lakh
The Gujarat Government launched an Education Loan Scheme for the student who wants to study further and are not capable to pay the fees for their education. Any person from the general category can take loan upto Rs. 10 lakh at 4% of interest. This loan can be taken for the admission of a student in Self-financed medical, engineering, pharmacy, nursing, architecture and other technical courses in college from GUEEDC. The student must have secured at least 60% in the higher secondary. The student who scored less than 60% will not be eligible for this scheme. And the annual income of the family of the candidate must not exceed Rs. 3 lakh per annum.
- Foreign Studies Scheme (Loans upto Rs. 15lakh)
The one scheme out of the 8 scheme is to provide a loan to study abroad. The GUEEDC will also provide educational loans upto Rs.15 lakh at 4% interest. This scheme will benefit the candidates who want to pursue higher studies in foreign countries. The applicant must have secured at least 60% in the higher secondary. And the annual income of the family must not exceed Rs. 4.5 lakh per annum.
- Tuition Assistance Scheme (Rs. 15,000 per month)
The candidates who want to study in Science stream after class 10 and this scheme will help you to get study in Science stream after class 10. The students must have secured 70 % marks in class 10 to avail the benefits of this scheme. This scheme will be given to the students who want to study in Science stream in Class 11th and 12th. Each student will get Rs. 15,000 per month. This assistance will be given as tuition fees from the Gujarat government. And this scheme will be known as the Tuition Sahayata Scheme.
- Private Hostel Students to Get Monthly Assistance (Rs. 1200 per month)
All candidates who come under the unreserved category and who are staying in private hostels will get the monthly assistance of Rs. 1200 for 10 months a year. The family income for this student should be less than Rs. 3 lakh per annum.
- Coaching Assistance for 12th Class Students (Rs. 20,000 per annum)
All the students who want to study in the science stream of class 12 can avail the coaching assistance of upto Rs. 20,000 per year. This scheme will be given to the students for the preparation of Entrance Exams like NEFT and JEE.
- Coaching Assistance for Graduate Students (Rs. 20,000 per annum)
The students of the general category who have passed their graduation degree and who wants to appear for the competitive exams. This scheme will help the students to get benefit upto Rs. 20,000 coaching fees.
- Loans for Doctors and Advocates (Rs. 10 lakh per annum)
All the doctors and advocates who belong to the general category will be benefitted with the scheme. They can avail loans upto Rs. 10 lakh to start their own clinics and offices.
- Self Employment Loan Scheme (Rs. 10 lakh per annum)
The Gujarat government is focusing on the creation of self-employment opportunities. The candidates who want to start their own small-scale business such as grocery trade or transportation can get the benefit of the scheme. The loan for this scheme will get upto Rs. 10 lakh at 5% interest rate. And for the women, the interest rate for the same amount is 4% per annum.
